The Augusta-Richmond County Emergency Management Agency will host its fourth annual Family Emergency Ready Day event on Saturday, April 29th from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM at Augusta Mall in the parking lot behind P.F. Chang's. Families from across the CSRA can gather important life-saving information in one place while gaining answers to their questions on how to survive disasters and emergencies that may affect their area.
More than twenty local agencies will set up booths and demonstrations that will provide information and demonstrations that families may not otherwise consider gathering before an emergency. The event will include the Augusta Fire Department, the Augusta-Richmond County EMA’s CERT (citizen emergency response team), Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, the city of Augusta’s 311 information center and car seat checks to make sure children are safely secured in local vehicles. This is a big step toward keeping local residents of all ages safe and on the right path to surviving emergencies and disasters.
